The goal of the Christian Right is not religious freedom but rather to have everyone in America bow to their version of God and live according to their fundamental interpretation of the Bible.
This is their agenda:
- To limit marriage to Christian male and Christian female couples and prohibit divorced people from remarrying.
- To criminalize sex except between married Christian couples and prohibit the use contraceptives or any form of family planning.
- To criminalize abortion in all cases including rape, incest, and the life or health of the mother and limit adoptions to married Christian couples.
- To subordinate women to male authority and limit their roles to producing children and serving their husband in the home.
- Only permit education that advances Christian doctrine and prohibit the teaching of science or anything else that isn’t biblically correct.
- To hold the Ten Commandments as the measure of morality for everyone and label any actions inconsistent with these or other biblical values as evil, sinful, and immoral.
- To rally the Christian community with abortion, contraception, LGBT, and other secular backed issues and play the victim card to create a sense of fear and urgency in order to justify fundraising to further organize and build political power.
- To weaponize America’s religious freedom laws to impose Christian doctrine on all others and carve out religious privileges for Christians.
- And ultimately – to destroy the principle of separation of church and state, declare America to be a Christian nation, and either convert or persecute all other religions and beliefs.
